batman ident
I have just seen this recommended to me to see, and its just the kind of thing i want to do, but put sound on it that relates to the individual films. I also think i have chosen the channel film 4, i think it will be much easier to make my idents for a well know film channel than a terrestrial channel that has a large variance of programs and films.
Batman begins
I have just watched the film and loved it... anyway i have noted down times and chapters of quotes i think are really good also times in the movie where i would like to take screen grabs when i find out how i can do this.
Lines
'why do we fall bruce? so we can learn to pick ourselves up'
10:13 - Chapter 3 - Bruce's dad
1:45 - Chapter 33 - Albert
although this like doesn't seen too hard hitting, it is actually a main main in the film used several times, it would make more sense for me to use this line as now i have watched the film i find it really powerful, however i have to think of people who haven't watched the film, it doesn't really grab the audience how i want.
'Bruce dont be afraid'
13:41 - Chapter 4 - Bruce's dad dying.
'As a man i'm flesh and blood i can be ignored i can be destroyed, but as a symbol, as a symbol i can be incorruptible i can be everlasting.'
40:20 - Chapter 12 - Bruce
'Who are you?' 'Watch for my sign.'
52:45 - Chapter 16
deep breathing ... 'Where are you?...' 'HEAR!'
59:51 - Chapter 18
'What the hell are you?'
1:00:30
'Its not who i am underneath, but what i do that defines me.'
1:52 - Bruce
This is also a line used more than once in the film and by different people making it quite emotional with batmans realisation of how to treat the bad.
Image
bats on the opening credits.
batman stood on a building with the camera moving around 1:02:50 - 1:03:10
opening closet to bat outfit 1:19:27
1:52
batman dropping upside down 59:51
1:00:30
so for the above when i figure out how to screen grab i shall post the images to this.

Batman imagery
So i have been watching lots of mini clips on you tube and trying to come up with some ideas to push forward my batman theme, at this point i do no that i want to use a memorable line from either 4 or 5 of the films, what i haven't decide on yet is wether i am going to use a stop motion, by taking clips from the films or to use stills and type. I suppose i could use both or at least try both an see which works best. The images above all follow them tone i want for the idents, which is dark and mysterious as i want it aimed towards adults on a later broadcasting. I really like the idea of using silhouettes, as i mentioned i didn't want to over complicate things as my skills are minimal, however i do feel that by using dark colors, silhouettes contrasting a bring light would create the atmosphere i want.

New idea- Batman
So after my crit/presentation yesterday i have decided to move forward by narrowing super heros down to Batman. So i shall aim to advertise 4/5 films for Batman film week on either channel 5 or film 4. I definitely no i dont want to aim this at children, and more towards adults, showing the darker side to batman, this is show more in the newer films. At this point i am researching really good quotes from the films which i will post later, and some background info on batman.
Batman, originally referred to as "the Bat-Man" and still referred to at times as "the Batman", is a fictional character, a comic book superhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger (although only Kane receives official credit), appearing in publications by DC Comics. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939.
He is additionally known as "the Caped Crusader", "the Dark Knight", "the World's Greatest Detective", or simply "the Bat"; in the original version of the story and the vast majority of subsequent retellings, Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne (named for the historical figures Robert the Bruce and "Mad" Anthony Wayne)[2], a billionaire playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Having witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, he swore revenge on crime, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. Bruce trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime.[3] Batman operates in the fictional American Gotham City, assisted by various supporting characters including his main sidekick Robin, his butler Alfred Pennyworth, the police commissioner Jim Gordon, and occasional assistance from the heroine Batgirl. He fights an assortment of villains influenced by the characters' roots in film and pulp magazines. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime.
Batman films:
Batman 1989
Batman Returns 1992
Batman Forever 1995
Batman and Robin 1997
Batman Begins 2005
The Dark Knight 2008

small changes between idents.
Although these are quite plain and dont really look anything special, what i like about them is that they are all the same and just a small area has been changed to suit different genres, i like that they work as a set and i think this theme could work really well for me with my 5 superhero idents.
idents
This is really plain, but i like it because it seems so calm yet most things that are happening in it are really loud and fast moving, i think the contrast works really well, because you no in reality its is the opposite of what they are trying to portray.
A program played on the sean, i really like this :) not exactly sure why though?
This is just classic, and has been around ages and i'm sure everyone has seen it, but i still love it i think its a good example for me of type and image because its not too complicated as i lack the skills :)

Types of SuperHeroes.
Armored Hero, Blaster, Brick/Tank, Gadgeteer, Ghost, Healer, Marks Man, Martial Artist, Paragon, Rider, Slasher, Shapeshifter, Size Changer, Speedster, Mastermind/.
Super genius, teleporter.
Most superheroes 'types' of power tend to overlap, because some have more than one power or some have a object to add to their individual powers.
When looking at making my own idents related to superheroes i think i need to work with an overall view rather than an individual superhero characteristics like superman, i don't want to personalize to one individual too much.

tv idents
I have chosen the genre 'superheroes' so to get a deeper understanding of what we view as super heros i have research and these are my findings.
- A superhero is a fictional character of extraordinary super human powers dedicated to protecting the public.
- Normally superheroes use their powers to police day to day crime whilst also combating superhuman villains.
- Superheroes vary in powers from superhuman strength, the ability to fly, enhanced senses the projection of energy bolts. Some super heros don't have a super human strength but a mastered skill in a martial art.
- They have a distinctive costume to conceal their identity.
- A motivation, a sense of responsibility.
- A headquarters/ base of operations.
- Many superheroes work independently but some work as part of a team, they have common origins and usually operate as a group.
Superheroes costumes:
- A superheroes costume makes him or her recogniseable to the general public. The costume is often skin tight and some have unitard or underpants over the top.
- Costumes are often colorful to enhance the characters visual appeal, they often include lettering from their name.
- They often wear masks to conceal their identity most common masks cover the upper face and conceal the mouth and jaw this allows a more believable disguise and reveals facial expressions.
Superheroes headquarters:
- A safe house, to conceal themselves from the outside world
- A laboratory for the experiments and scientific study.
- A weapons platform.
- Somewhere to keep weapons and armory.
- A trophy room for mementoes of significant fights and battles.
