suggestions.
It was suggested in my crit that i should look at other health drinks/products, those typically sold in supermarkets, to try and make my drinks look more appetising.
The danone range of activia is well know and well advertised, i think the products much fuller n colour and image, unlike mine which is full of information. I do understand that i need to change some aspects of my drink to make it more appealing, but i don't want to take away the health drink, the clinical informational look it has. I don't want it to be mistaken for something like an activia product, it is more of a medicinal product although it is organic. I also have to co
nsider the nature of the product the history and how the product is sold. The entire range of FLP products are sold through distributors and not in shops, and they are an american based company, i also don't want to move too far away from the other products they produce i still want them to fit in.
printing methods.
Booklet labels are created on rolls for manual or automatic application and is off set printed. This would be useful for carrying a lot of information, the pamphlet or leaflet is married together to a pressure sensitive label.
Printing and applying adhesive labels to packaging aligning the product and placing it. http://www.labelapplicators.co.uk/labelling_machines/semi_automatic_labellers.html
This website also has lots of small video clips showing how the labeling machine works which is really interesting the link is http://www.labelapplicators.co.uk/labelling_machines/specialist_labellers.html
For direct printing on to a plastic bottle would be through a semi automatic screen printing machine. http://www.raybold.net/bottle-printing.html
benefits.
As i have narrowed my choice down to Forever Living Products (FLP) i have been trying to find out as much as i can about all of the drinks, to find more benefits than i no already.

Aloe Vera research.
So i have decided on packaging to inform and i am looking at redesign the bottle and label of a set of Aloe Vera gel drinks for Forever Living Products an established Aloe vera company. Below are 3 products i really like.
These drinks 'this water' are produced by the innocent smoothie company, i really like how qwerkie they are they have a fun little fact on the label and make the really boring but important vitamins in them sound really fun. I also like the simple but fun designs they have with each drink, they have made them each individual and intriguing to look at compared to simple lime and lemon, its rain water...
This is 'pom wonderful' a health drink which is helpful as the drink bottles i am looking at are also health drinks. However these look really fun an modern, the curves of the bottle and arch at the top, its just really interesting ad not just a general bottle shape. I also like the simple logo, you just wouldn't interoperate this logo with pomegranates which is unusual but at the same time i think it works, it takes away the clinical health side of the drink.
This product is from philosophy, different from the others its so plain yet beautiful. I think i like this one the best and think i may adapt this idea to my own, you can see clearly what it says, but its a series of questions and the answer is the cream which i think could really benefit the aloe gel drink because people don't really know what the drinks do, its such a simple but effective way of promoting your product on the product.

Miracle stories - Aloe Vera
I ended my presentation with a miracle story from aloe, below is the passage i read, i think it really sums up how amazing aloe vera really is and how many people can benefit from it without even realising. It changes peoples lives. At the same time i showed a few slides of physical changes that people could see a before and after of; acne, psoriasis, leg ulcer and burns.
"My story with aloe began when i ate a meat sandwich infected with E Coli. I was left with a third of my stomach lining missing, the doctors prescribed me upto 50 tablets per day and i could take a litre of morphine and Belladonna a day. My doctor told me they had never had anyone live through what i had suffered. After 5 years of daily pain, i was crawling on my knees. When someone introduced me to Aloe. The stomach lining is replenished every 28-29 days after which i would get more pain. Because of his pain i new it was time to try aloe, i drank it twice a day, and after the third day i could not believe that the pain was disappearing. Out went the medication and in went the aloe. The hiatus hernia; the irritable bowel; the duodenal ulcer and the 103 allergies had all gone within 6 weeks."

Packaging
Over the summer i collected lots of different types of packaging i found really interesting for lots of different reasons.. which is really good for me :) The very first is a Krispy Kream doughnut packaging. I really like how simple it is, but yet sooo pleasing to my eye. It has a real old school american feel to it, with the typography and mix of 2 colour.
Below is make-up packaging from benefit, what i love about this is how unique it is, all of Benefits range of packaging ranges from fun and 'tasty' packaging that makes you want to pick it up an see what it it. This reminds makes me think of really old make-up packaging, from the war i think the choice of colour is really unique.
